A Welcome From the Church Pastor
Welcome to the online presence of Heritage Presbyterian Church! We are a redeemed community—a family—seeking to integrate the Gospel into our local community. We are a group of people who came to realize that our individual stories of finding value ended in heartache. We could not work hard enough, be good enough, or have enough to be validated and accepted unconditionally by others. We each found that at the end of the drama of the American dream, was an empty, lonely void. It was not until we entered into the amazing narrative the Creator is writing that we found what we were seeking. The cure for our alienation was to recognize that the source of that meaninglessness in our lives was our conflict with the Creator.
Being alienated from God’s love sets us adrift to seek out value and meaning from everything else, and that journey always proves itself futile. But the Gospel of God’s love for His people in Jesus Christ sets us free from seeking to find our worth though the eyes of other people. For in the Gospel we find two amazing truths: that we are actually more evil, fractured and messed-up than we even realize, and that we are more loved, valued and accepted than we dared hope! The Scriptures teach that Jesus Christ lived the life that we should have lived; He died the death that we should have died, and He rose again from the dead to break the power of death. It is through Him alone that we have meaning because He grounds us in His love, freeing us from looking to others for value and meaning.
This is the Gospel of Grace, and it is the Gospel that we live and seek to integrate into Wildwood, MO.
